Do mobile mechanics carry parts with them?
Common parts, often yes. Check with the provider through the app before booking if your job needs something specific, so they can bring it or order it ahead of time.
Can a mobile mechanic do an NCT-level check before I book the actual test?
Many offer a pre-test check covering the common failure points. Mention this is what you're after when you post the job.
What if the job turns out bigger than expected once they arrive?
Ask the mechanic to confirm any change in price through the app before they start extra work, so you agree it before it happens rather than after.
Is there a fee just to get quotes?
No. Posting your job and comparing quotes is free. Service Connect adds a small buyer protection fee when you book, shown before you confirm, and the whole payment is refunded if the booking is cancelled before work starts.
