Childcare is not a category where you want to be taking chances on a name from a noticeboard. Everyone offering childminding or babysitting on Service Connect verifies their identity through Stripe before they can respond to a job, reviews can only be left by parents who have actually booked them, and any qualifications they upload are shown on their profile before you make contact.
It covers a wide range of what people actually need: a regular childminder for set days each week, an occasional babysitter for evenings out, or one-off cover during school holidays. Be specific in your job post about ages, dates and what you need, and message providers directly through the app to ask about their experience and availability.
You stay in control of who you choose and can take as long as you need comparing profiles and reviews before booking. Payment is handled securely through the app, and if your plans change before the booking starts, your whole payment, fee included, is refunded.

Are childminders and babysitters on Service Connect vetted?
Providers verify their identity through Stripe before they can respond to jobs, with a government-issued ID, their address and their bank details. Their profile shows reviews from parents who have completed a booking with them, plus any qualifications they have uploaded. We don't check qualifications or run background checks ourselves, so we'd still encourage you to message a provider directly, ask about their experience, and check references for the peace of mind that matters most for childcare.
Can I find someone for regular, ongoing childminding?
Yes. Say in your job post that you're looking for a regular arrangement, such as specific days each week, and agree the schedule directly with the provider once you've booked.
What ages of children can providers care for?
This varies by provider. Their profile will show the age ranges they're comfortable with. Mention your children's ages in your job post so you hear from providers who are the right fit.
How does payment work for ongoing childminding?
You agree and pay for bookings through the app, which keeps a clear, secure record of the arrangement rather than relying on cash.
