Introduction

Please read these terms of service carefully before using the Service Connect mobile application. By registering or using Service Connect, whether as an individual or a business, you agree to these terms. Anyone who creates or intends to create an account is considered a user. Users who request services are referred to as buyers, and users who offer or respond to service requests are referred to as sellers. Your access to and use of the service depends on your acceptance of and compliance with these terms, which apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who accesses or uses Service Connect. By using Service Connect, you confirm that you are bound by these terms.

2. About the Service

Service Connect provides a platform where users can request, offer, and accept various types of services. As a buyer, you can post a request for a service to be performed. Sellers can then respond with offers. If you, as a buyer, accept an offer, you enter into a contract with the seller for the service. Service Connect does not provide or guarantee the mediated service itself. We are not responsible for the quality or completion of the mediated service. Any agreement between buyer and seller is solely between those parties and is not governed by these terms. All rights and responsibilities regarding the mediated service rest with the buyer and seller, not with Service Connect.

3. Registration and User Account

Both individuals and businesses can register as users. You may only create one user account, and it must only be used by you. To register as a seller, you must have the legal right to work in Ireland and verify your identity through Stripe, our payment provider, which asks for a government-issued ID, your date of birth, your address, a tax identifier and a bank account. You must also tell us whether you hold public liability insurance and agree to the provider terms. Service Connect does not check qualifications, insurance documents or backgrounds itself, and we may remove a seller from the marketplace at any time. You may stop using Service Connect at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from Settings, under Delete My Account - what that erases and what we are obliged to keep is set out in the Privacy Policy. These terms remain in effect until all ongoing mediated services you are involved in are completed.

4. Use of the Service

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms. You are responsible for all activities connected to your use of the service. We are not liable for unauthorized access to your account resulting from your or another user's negligence. You must ensure that any material you provide through the service does not infringe on anyone else's rights or violate any law or regulation. You agree to indemnify Service Connect for any claims, damages, or losses resulting from your actions or omissions. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and must not share them with anyone else. If we believe your account or information has been compromised, we may suspend or terminate your access to Service Connect. You may not use Service Connect for commercial purposes, such as reselling the service or its content, without our written consent.

5. Content, Conduct and Moderation

Service Connect carries content written and uploaded by its users: task descriptions and photos, service listings, profile pictures and biographies, messages between users, and reviews. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or for abusive users. By using Service Connect you agree not to post, send or upload anything that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, fraudulent or deceptive, that impersonates another person or business, that infringes anyone's rights, or that reveals another person's private information without their consent. You also agree not to use the messaging feature to harass another user or to move a booking off the platform in order to avoid its protections.

You can report content or a user from inside the app. Every chat has a Report action, and every booking and every review can be reported from the booking screen. Tell us what is wrong and, if it helps, add details. Reports are treated as confidential.

We review every report within 24 hours of receiving it. Where a report is upheld we remove the offending content, and we suspend or terminate the account responsible. Serious cases, including anything that suggests a risk to someone's safety, are escalated immediately and may be reported to An Garda Siochana. We may also remove content or suspend an account on our own initiative, without a report and without notice, where we believe these terms have been breached. A terminated account cannot be used again and its holder may not register a new one.

Service Connect is not intended for anyone under 18. You are responsible for the content you post and you keep ownership of it, while granting us the licence we need to display and moderate it within the app.

6. Prices and Payments

For sellers, a commission is charged on the total amount paid by the buyer for the mediated service. Buyers do not pay any commission on top of the service price. All payments are processed securely via Stripe. You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is accurate and up to date. We may change our pricing or payment terms at any time, and any changes will be communicated via Service Connect.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Service Connect at any time, with or without cause or notice. This may happen if you breach these terms, violate any law, or use the Service Connect app in a way that is harmful or disruptive. Upon termination, your rights under these terms end immediately, and you are not entitled to any refunds or compensation.

8. Limitation of Liability

We make no guarantees or warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the Service Connect or its content. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from your use or inability to use Service Connect, including damages caused by viruses or other harmful components. You agree to indemnify Service Connect for any claims or losses resulting from your actions, misuse of the service, or violation of these terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the Irish courts. By using Service Connect, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of these courts.
