Getting jobs done around Donegal

Donegal is one of the biggest and most spread-out counties in the country, with a huge coastline, mountains and Gaeltacht areas in the west and north-west. Letterkenny is the largest town. Buncrana and Moville look out over Lough Swilly and Lough Foyle, Ballybofey and Stranorlar sit in the Finn Valley, Donegal Town, Killybegs, Ballyshannon and Bundoran lie to the south, and Dungloe, Gweedore and Dunfanaghy are further out west and north. When you post on Service Connect Ireland you choose your county and area, so the job reaches providers who say they cover that part of Donegal.

Distance is the big thing here. A job in Letterkenny and a job near Glenties or Falcarragh can mean very different drives, and some roads are slow. Give your nearest town, be flexible on dates, and consider putting several small jobs into one post so a provider only has to make the trip once.

Weather comes straight off the Atlantic, so wind-driven rain, cold snaps and damp are part of the picture. Heating, draught-proofing, gutters and roofs get plenty of attention, and homes with an oil-fired boiler need their annual service. Holiday homes in places like Bundoran, Rathmullan and Dunfanaghy benefit from a check over before and after the winter.

Choose County Donegal and your area, describe what needs doing and add photos. Posting a job and getting quotes costs nothing.

  2. Local providers can send you a quote

Providers who cover your area can quote and message you. Every provider has verified their identity through Stripe, and reviews on a profile only come from completed bookings.

  3. Pay only when they accept

Your card is charged only when the provider accepts, and Stripe holds the payment until the job is complete. Cancel before work starts and you get a full refund, fee included.

Questions about Service Connect in Donegal

I'm in a remote part of Donegal. Can I still post a job?

Yes, you can post from anywhere in County Donegal. Whether a provider comes out is up to them, since providers choose the counties and areas they cover. Give your nearest town, mention the road, and allow some flexibility on dates, so local providers who cover your area can send you a quote.

Can one person quote for several small jobs?

Yes. Post them together as a handyman job with a photo of each one, and a provider can quote for the lot or send a custom offer with their own price and conditions. It can save a long trip.

How are providers checked?

Every provider verifies their identity through Stripe before they can offer services: a government-issued ID, their address and their bank details. They also declare whether they hold public liability insurance and can upload qualifications, and only customers who completed a booking with them can leave a review. We don't inspect qualifications or insurance documents ourselves, so read the profile and ask questions in chat before you book.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If either side asks to cancel before work starts, the booking is cancelled when the other person agrees, or automatically after three days, and your full payment, fee included, is refunded.
