Getting jobs done in Dublin
County Dublin takes in four council areas: Dublin City, Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown. “Local” means very different things depending on where you are, from city-centre apartments to seaside villages in north County Dublin and estates out towards the Kildare and Wicklow borders. When you post on Service Connect Ireland you pick your county and your area, so the job reaches providers who say they cover that part of Dublin.
A lot of Dublin's housing is older than it looks. Victorian and Edwardian red-brick terraces in places like Rathmines, Ranelagh, Phibsborough and Drumcondra often have pipework and wiring that has been added to over the decades, so mention the age of the house and any previous work when you describe the job. A photo of the fuse board or the pipes under the sink saves a lot of back-and-forth.

Questions about Service Connect in Dublin
Can I find a plumber or electrician in Dublin through Service Connect?
Post the job in the app with Dublin as your county and your area selected, and local plumbers or electricians who cover that area can send you a quote. Describe the job clearly and add photos so the quotes you get are useful.
Does it matter which part of Dublin I'm in?
Yes. Providers choose the counties and areas they cover, and a job in Balbriggan is a different trip from one in Dún Laoghaire. Choose your area when you post, and mention parking or access so the quote reflects the real job.
Can I book an end-of-tenancy clean?
Yes. Post it as a cleaning job, say it is an end-of-tenancy clean, and list the rooms and anything the landlord or agent has asked for, such as the oven or the windows. Cleaners can then quote for the actual scope.
When is my card charged?
Only when a provider accepts your booking, not when you send the request. Stripe processes the card inside the app and holds the payment until the job is complete. If the booking is cancelled before work starts, your full payment, fee included, is refunded.
